New Moon in Cancer – July 9, 2021

On July 9th, the Moon is right at home in tender Cancer and also in conjunction with the Sun, making this combination of watery tides and lunar magick, potent when heightening sensitivities, insecurities, and the wounds which triggered these emotions. While our emotional bodies may be put through overtime with this Cancerian cosmic cocktail, it is important to remember that the positives and gifts it bestows upon us is our amplified intuition, empathy, and also the ability to heal.

The prior Full Moon in Capricorn was heavy in finishing up those last touches of letting go of the toxicity in our lives which held us back from elevating to higher levels of experiences, in closing out old cycles and making way for new ones. Now, the Cancer New Moon is here to blanket us with the nurturing care needed in order to mend our wounds received during the conflicts raised during the transition, and to also bring to surface old behavioral or emotional patterns that may still be present. This is a time of identifying old codependent behaviors and things in our lives that we still cling to, which prevent us from attracting the right connections we desire within our family life, social circle, and romantic partnerships.

The Cancer New Moon reminds us to take care of our homes – our vessel, and our emotional bodies. It’s time to take that healing touch within and to nurture our inner child, to heal that mother wound, and to make our house a home; a sanctuary that brings safety, security, and comfort.

Many may feel the need to isolate themselves during this powerful New Moon, because of the uncomfortable emotions that arise from our environmental triggers, or perhaps the need to cleanse our emotional and spiritual bodies is loud, and when we ignore that call, is when our emotional nature becomes imbalanced, and we act out in ways that push others away.

It is important to create an environment where we can feel safe – within ourselves, and also environmentally. We want to be vulnerable, to let that guard down, and to open our hearts so to truly experience the deepness of intimacy that our hearts and souls crave. The intimacy we crave is healing and also caters to new cycles of experiencing healthy relationships within ourselves and others. However, the Cancer New Moon reminds us that we must first create that space from within, otherwise we will continue to repeat old cycles of relationships in which others push us away – attracting emotionally unavailable connections that remind us to keep our guards up.

This New Moon is also prominent on healing our inner child, in reminding us to nurture the wounded, neglected, and rejected child within us, which cries to be loved, nurtured, and cared for. When we do not tend to those pleas of our inner child, we attract partners that, just like said above, create cycles of lessons in bringing us back home, within ourselves, so to tend to cry of love. We cannot expect others to do this for us, we cannot search outwardly to fill a void, and we cannot drink from the cups of others, because we attract what we are in alignment with, and if our own cups are not full, then we will repeat those cycles of attracting partners with empty cups as well.

When we harbor those wounds and do not take the time to heal them, then we end up creating external needs to fill voids that we must fill for ourselves. We create a disconnection of Self and reach for things that may not be healthy – such as toxic relationships, unhealthy vices, and defense mechanisms that only cater to the disconnection of Self and aid in prolonging the healing process because of a need to escape the harshness of the pain. We may even focus more on others than ourselves, continuously pushing to heal, nurture, and to be of need because filling the voids in others, caters to a need of filling our own, only instead we are continuously pouring ourselves until we run on empty from attracting connections that have unquenchable thirsts, or that feed from our light because of being parasitical and not equal in the energy we give. The only way we can bypass these cycles of emptiness, heartbreak, and feeling unappreciated, is through coming back home to ourselves and mending the wounds of our inner child.

When we are able to do this for ourselves, is when we can finally attract others in our lives which bring the same nurturing and tenderness to us, as we pour into them. We release that sense of codependency which allows for stronger connections which open our worlds to a deeper sense of intimacy that is based off the frequency of pure and unconditional love.

The prior Super Full Moon in Capricorn really did a number in applying those finishing touches of old cycles ending with the recent string of eclipses.
