On July 20th, we have another powerful New Moon in Cancer which helps us implement that healing we need as Mercury moves out of its shadow period. This Moon encourages us to speak softer, to love harder, and to nurture those shadowy aspects of ourselves, and others, with the motherly touch it has been crying for.
When the Moon is in Cancer is heightens our sensitivities, and accompanied by the Sun, it brings our intuitive gifts from the subconscious, to the conscious. This is where empaths feel the overload of excesses when taking in too much of their surroundings – and with the state of the World right now, many are more than likely having a very difficult time in riding the wave of emotional extremes. Grounding and focusing on ways to transmute this overload of emotions is necessary right now to maintain any ounce of sanity.
What needs to be healed, what needs to be loved, and what needs to be cradled is going to be triggered out to the surface. This is where shadow work comes into play – while that Cancerean habit of running away from the conflict is there, we must remain aware and take accountability for our pain, our faults, and also our reactions to such triggers, as this is the only way we can work through the shadow and transmute it into light.
Issues within the home and/or family are going to be highlighted with this moon. This is a time of setting new ideals, boundaries, goals, and inventing new ways of going about certain problems that have plagued your family or home life with disharmony. Problems with children may arise because of their need for that motherly love, or if children aren’t present, the inner child will surface and demand that loving touch.
