New Moon in Taurus – May 11, 2021

​The New Moon on May 11th is comfortably within value-oriented Taurus. Accompanied by the Sun and Uranus, this cosmic conjunction is focused heavily on bringing not only structure, but also breaking away from the chaos which keeps us from enjoying the fruits of our labor and focus our minds and hearts on what truly matters.

We are given a gentle boost to see the world through a loving lens to focus on our relationships, money matters, and of course our value system which will be highlighted during this time.

The week of the New Moon is bound to be as harmonious as it is to be magical. Not only do we now have many of the heavily influential outer planets working together in earth and water signs, but we also have Jupiter emphasizing romantic and dreamy aspects as it is to moves into Pisces on Thursday, where it is in conjunction with Neptune and sextiling Uranus rather than being at odds. Those who have been looking for magick are certainly bound to find it now, and those who refuse to believe, will be struck by miracles that are too mystically aligned to be considered coincidence.

While Pluto has gone retrograde late last month, we can consider this to be a good thing, for the New Moon’s influence is not as heavy as the prior Full Moon in Scorpio, which kicked Pluto’s backward motion off. Internally we are inspired to take another look at our value system, not so much on the material things in our lives, but rather how we see ourselves, our intimate relationships, and where we give our power to, or take our source of power from. The New Moon offers us a boost of energy so to really consider how we view our place in this World and how we can add more value to it.

The Taurus New Moon impacts us greatly with its Venus vibes, bringing beauty, romance, and a focus on our value system to light. To plant new seeds is the goal, seeds that are designed to grow into beautiful bouquets that offers even more beauty to surround us. The Moon is rooted, secured, and finds her safe place in Taurus, where there is no need to hurry, no need to stress, and no need to bring about any sudden changes. Comfort is the goal, as is a desire to surround ourselves with the things we feel most in our element, such as soft music, good food, adoring friends or lovers, and the ability to express our appreciation for it all.

This New Moon is certainly welcomed as the prior Full Moon in Scorpio gave many of us a run for our money in terms of cleaning out that closet from the things that go bump in the night and transmuting many toxic behavioral and environmental influences. The work has been done, and so now it is time to be present and grounded within our bodies, to enjoy the fruits of our labor, and to marvel over all that we have accomplished. This is the pause that is welcomed, and the break from the continuous efforts of shadow work, and tireless goal-reaching that is needed.

If insecurities are triggered during this time, then it is all for a higher cause in taking a closer look at what keeps us from experiencing the comforts we desire, why we won’t allow ourselves to sit still, and what may be preventing us from indulging in the closeness or intimacy we crave within our relationships. This is also where that value system comes into play, meaning that we may not value ourselves enough or hold enough value within our relationships and so we keep things at arm’s length and are restraining ourselves from indulging in the connections we deserve.

Spending time outside with nature, planting a garden, decorating your home with your favorite aesthetic, or even a little retail therapy is supported by this New Moon. Do something that brings you a sense of comfort, that caters to a well-needed and deserved token of self-care, and also a means to express our affections and appreciation for those we adore and love.

It is time to lay down the shield, to put the sword back in the sheath, and to take off our armor. The Taurus New Moon urges us to feel everything from the heart, to indulge our senses of the wonderful sensations around us, and to be present within our own skin.
