The Full Moon resides in transformative Scorpio, where we feel everything more intensely: the passion, love, jealousy, betrayal, and the desire.

​It’s easy to allow our emotions to get the best of us when the Moon is in Scorpio, and to act on defense even when things may not exactly be as bad as we perceive them to be. We can feed our fears, or we can feed our desires. The choice is ours, and whatever we choose to focus this energy on will be illuminated with intensity. Scorpio is the sign of power and transformation; it governs the planet Pluto which ancients dub as the God of Death and Rebirth. In order to be reborn, we must first put to death the old qualities of ourselves, relationships, or things within our environment which keep those things on life support.

The Scorpio Full Moon is opposed by the Sun, Mercury, Uranus, and Venus who are currently residing in stubborn yet dedicated Taurus, as well as Saturn who is currently home in opinionated and future-oriented Aquarius. The energy is thick within the realm of fixed signs as it creates a T-square, producing a chaotic concoction of not wanting to bend when change is desperately needed, but yet yearning for that change because of a focus on the bigger picture. This oppositional force is definitely one to be reckoned with and can flair up tempers, add volume to opinions, and expose others for who they truly are down to the core – even yourself. There is no more hiding the authentic origins of what ills us, what holds us back, and also what encourages us to grow, move forward, and to find the light within the darkness. The truth is exposed, no matter how ugly or bright it may be.

The theme of this Full Moon is not only transformation, but also transmutation. There is no escaping it, not matter how reluctant the opposition may be when change is on the horizon.

Grounding is vital rather than allowing our emotions, suspicions, or defensive nature to get the best of us. We can thank the difficult yet much-needed stellium of Taurus energy for the influence of remaining within our bodies and having our feet deeply rooted on the ground. This allows for us to go within, rather than soaring the heights, or the depths, of the astral realms.

When we go within, ground, and find out the truth of the matter rather than feeding into the illusions our fears or allowing those rose-colored glasses mask the truth, is when we find our power to transmute the chaos and transform our fears into understanding and our desires into goals.

This is also a time of finding out who your true friends are, who you truly are, as not everyone is on your side and sometimes it is you standing in your own way. While Scorpio can be incredibly manipulative and live separate lives, the opposing forces within this fixed energy will reveal the truth behind the smoke and mirrors.

The best way to use the energy from the Scorpio Moon is to protect yourself, as Scorpio is one of the most fiercely protective signs. Secretive and stealth-like, you can use this energy to your advantage as you protect yourself within that smoke and use the mirror to determine who or what is triggering the toxicity within your life or yourself. This is where we clear those skeletons our of our closets and identify exactly what is going bump in the night. Just like an exorcism, the only way you can rid the demon is by calling it out by its name, and that is the gift this Scorpio Full Moon is offering us.

This is the perfect time to focus on shadow work, protective work, as well as to expand our creative and spiritual gifts. The Scorpio Full Moon reveals the path to where our true power lies and encourage us to stand in it – but first, we must clear the path from the obstacles that try to derail us.
