The Tarot of Aphrodite by Natacha Fromm is so gorgeous, it feels as if Aphrodite herself had guided this creation.
This unique tarot deck beautifully weaves together elements of mythology and history with the elegance of the Renaissance era. The cards depict the true value of Venus with the love of art, bringing a sense of enchantment to each reading. Natacha carefully chose the ideal classical art piece for each individual card, aiming to establish a deeper emotional connection and inspiration tied to the card's significance.
Packaged with care and arrived quickly. I was so glad to receive the cards so safely. You can tell Natacha did not cut corners when it came to safely packaging her decks. It is always a bummer to receive a deck you have paid good money for, and the packaging was not handled with care, resulting in broken boxes, bent corners, or even damaged cards.
I absolutely love this box! It is so well thought-out and designed to feel like a jewelry box where your most treasured jewels are stored. When you open the box, you are greeted with a beautiful poem dedicated to Aphrodite, focusing this deck on love readings, self-love, and reflection when it comes to all heart matters.
The booklet is well made, promising to last through use over the years. Each card is thoroughly explained in an upright meaning, keywords, affirmations, and credit to the original artist. The explanations are to the point but also made with an impact, allowing each card to be understood and processed in various ways to fit whatever scenario that is coming up in the reading.
These cards are so beautiful. The rose gold foil is a perfect touch to the matte finish on the cards. The card stock is thick, promising for longevity with heavy use.
If you have an appreciation for classical art or have a connection to the Goddess Aphrodite (or Venusian Goddesses), I would highly recommend this deck. The artwork beautifully complements the meanings of the cards, allowing you to interpret emotions portrayed in the paintings that tie into the card’s meaning. This deck is most suitable for experienced readers as it differs from traditional decks like the Rider Waite in its esoteric symbolism.
I can usually tell within moments of holding a deck of cards if I feel connected to it. Sure, some can grow on you over time, but in the end, the best readings are delivered with cards that you feel aligned with. Not to mention, if the deck is quickly slapped together or if it was well thought out and made with passion. Every reader is different with what they feel connected to when it comes to their cards, but having a deck you enjoy helps with the intuitive flow. I enjoy this deck because for one, I am a true sucker for renaissance and classic art.
The Tarot of Aphrodite truly lives up to its purpose in connecting with the divine feminine. This deck encompasses Venusian inspired emotion, thought and devotion throughout history, but is told in the Hero's journey that is Tarot.
