Foundation.

April is going to be a month of karmic exchanges, in both paying your debts and raking in the rewards. While we had all the momentum and drive to get new goals off the ground during the past few months with all the planets being direct, we may experience a bit of a slowdown as Pluto stations retrograde near the end of the month. This is the catalyst to those karmic exchanges that may unfold within the next six months. With the asteroid Pallas changing into Taurus around the same time, and the New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse in Taurus, the Sun in Taurus, all in conjunction with Pluto, this retrograde period will be focused on sturdier foundations and instilling a deep sense of purpose for our vision of the future we aim to create. The road may be rocky, but the destination will be worth all the hurdles we have to overcome.

The major theme for this month will be: Let go or be dragged. While the effects of transformative Pluto will be favorable in the end, the process of elimination to create a sturdier foundation may not be so easy.

Here are the major planetary highlights for the month of April:

March 31st / April 1st – New moon in Aries at 11 degrees
Depending on where you are located, the New Moon in Aries takes the reins and impacts us significantly on March 31/April 1, at 11 degrees. This is a time of making wishes or working on new goals, while considering the resources and support that is currently available. Once we know what we have to work with, we can skyrocket towards acting upon our dreams, while setting the foundation down that will carry everything we wish to place upon it.

April 5th – Venus enters Pisces
Our perception may not be all the clear when Venus enters Pisces, as we could be seeing things for what we wish to them to be, or worse, what we fear them to be. With Venus in Pisces our manifestation powers are heightened, allowing us to channel perspectives that mold our realities. Concentrate on grounding and centering the thoughts in our minds is important, so to place more attention on where we have power, control, and the ability to swim through the emotional depths that are impacting us within this planetary placement.

April 10th – Mercury enters Taurus
Everything slows down when Mercury enters Taurus, creating a rift for those who are in a hurry. While it seems that our goals or plans are further out of sight, or the road to the desired destination has been stretched, this is actually a gift to get our priorities in check, and to redetermine the resources, tools, and what we have available to help with our pursuits.

April 14th – Mars enters Pisces
Mars doesn’t do so well in Pisces, as Mars is action-oriented, and Pisces prefers the comfort of their dreams, seldom acting upon them. This planetary placement can create a sense of fog, in not really seeing the road ahead, or creating a sort of distorted view of our goals. This is where pipe dreams are formed, but this is also where creative expression is intensified. Navigating through this energy could be difficult for some, as the ability to focus is challenging. Swift action is not favored, so refrain from acting on impulse, and as instructed for Venus in Pisces, we must try our best to ground and center our thoughts before making important decisions.

April 15th – Full moon in libra at 26 degrees
The Full Moon in Libra illuminates the foundation we are standing on, revving up the work Pluto’s Retrograde will soon be instilling upon us as we enter the pre-shadow period. We may receive glimpses of the cracks and unsteadiness, threatening to pulverize what we have built. This may have people choosing war over peace, in scrambling to keep those cracks sealed, and repositioning the weight to form more balance. The anger, desperation, and anxiety that could be stirred up, can be detrimental to maintaining the peace we truly want to obtain.

April 19th – Sun enters Taurus
Beauty surrounds us as the Sun enters Taurus on April 19th. The air is clearer, the grass is greener, and the flowers are all in bloom. While nature takes on the changes of the seasons gracefully, we may not feel so much of the same. Changing our course, ideals, or mindsets may prove to be more difficult during this time. The Sun in Taurus offers a massive slow down, potentially putting a wrench in the wheels if we are focused on speeding through to the finish line. Rather than dwelling on the delays, consider it a chance to align with the slowdown, so to smell the beautiful flowers in bloom – the metaphorical example of our goals and achievements we have accomplished recently. This may be the inspiration needed to calculate the results of our goals in determining if the juice is truly worth the squeeze.

April 20th – Juno enters Pisces
Juno is the asteroid named after the Roman Goddess who governs marriage, protector of women, and our soul contracts or karmic soul mates. With Juno entering Pisces we may be dreaming up that perfect partner, as this placement expressed love in its purest form and the desire for endless joy, tenderness, and deep intimacy. Our pursuits of love, or of rekindling in that spark to an already established relationship is on the forefront. Once we’ve made up our minds in what our hearts truly want, the experiences and people to help set that foundation will flow towards us.

April 29th – Pluto Rx – Pluto in Capricorn
Pluto stations Retrograde on April 29th, and as the planet of power, death, and regeneration is being governed by strict and responsibility-driven Capricorn, we will experience a transformative time in which our foundations will be rocked for the next six months. Growth is the only option – we cannot remain the same and expect the rewards to be identical as if we did the work. You cannot trick Pluto.  While Pluto is small in size, it still projects a powerful punch and affects us all just the same as other planets in the milky way.

April 29th – Mercury enters Gemini
After that slowdown from Taurus in Mercury, the planet of communication, travel and enterprise comes home in Gemini. Our communication styles might be more flirty, chatty, and endowed with humor. Travel may be more of a focus as well, as adventure is on the forefront of our minds – while those gas prices might prove to add some difficulty, there are ways around it with good planning, which could be a bit difficult when Mercury is in Gemini. This placement gives us the boost needed to get projects done before Mercury stations Retrograde on May 10th.

April 30th – Pallas enters Taurus
Pallas is the asteroid associated with the Roman/Greek Goddess Athena, and it governs our activist hearts and what we stand for in terms of justice. Pallas is the feminist but with a f*ck the patriarchy attitude. This powerful asteroid rules strategy, defensiveness, and how we deal with conflict. With her governing Taurus, we are more strategic with money, perhaps even stingy with our resources, and our focus is on how we can establish more value within ourselves, relationships, career, and life in general. It is important not to see things as face value during this time and to try and dig deep within our value-system, to see what is truly prized beyond the material sense.

April 30th – New Moon & Partial SE in Taurus at 10 degrees
A New Moon and Partial Solar Eclipse in Taurus, ends the month of April, closing it out while poking at our egos and removing the mask we wear as a false sense of security, so to hide our insecurities. Coinciding with Pallas entering Taurus, the New Moon triggers our subconscious to consider how we express our power, the misuse of power, and how we can balance the power struggles in our lives. The cause we are fighting for will come into question, allowing us to determine if our cause is just, or based off ego-gratification.
